Dangerblond Birthday

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

Dangerblond had a birthday party last night. She had a hippy theme costume party. There were a bunch of hippies but my dad and a few other people were not hippies. In fact, they were completely anti-hippy. I also learned about this new Fishie game. It was fun wiping out the entire eco-system.

Geek Dinner II

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

So far I’ve been to two Geek Dinners. Geek Dinners are for the bloggers and technology people in New Orleans to get together and share ideas for the benefit of New Orleans. At this one I along with two other people were interviewed by the BBC. They asked me about my movie. I also met a girl named Cassidy at the party, and she goes to Lusher in the 7th grade.

(: Friday :) Shakespeare and Geek Party

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

I went to a geek party on friday for all of the bloggers in New Orleans. It was really fun and I got to meet some great people. There was also a pool and I got to go swimming with Maitri who is a nice blogger who puts comments on mine :) I also liked the food there too but I was already full from where I was before the party. Before the Geek Dinner I went to a Shakespeare fest at my summer camp that was to show off all of the work that we have been doing in the past 5 weeks. One of my pieces was selected also for a fall art excibit. It was a fun Friday.

Our camera is broken, so these pictures were sent to Abu from Jill Baker, who is sort of the official Albright photographer among other things.

Double Digits

Tuesday, July 19th, 2005

Today is my 10th birthday. My dad keeps on telling me that it will be twice as hard now to write my age because I will have to write two numbers instead of one. Today I had a beautiful cake, it had coconut shedding thingies and frosting and lots of layers and it has a sparkler thing that took a long time to go out. I’d say even five minutes. Here is a picture of the cake:

I woke up this morning and we had a lot of work to do before we left the kibbutz. Now we are at the Albright and the cook and my friend Hisham made the cake for me. He is very nice and here is a picture of him:

Today was a nice day. Tomorrow we go to the Israel Museum, and we leave Jerusalem for home on Thursday. In 48 hours we’ll be at the airport.

Friends On The Site

Monday, June 27th, 2005

All of the people on the dig are nice, and at the kibbutz also. But there are some who are nicer to me or I like them more than others. Of course I love my dad. He has a student named Roy who is also very nice, but I pick on him sometimes. There are two square supervisors named Kate and Erin. They are really nice. There is a girl whom you may know if you read my other blogs. Madeleine Tappy along with her mom and dad, Connie and Ron. The volunteers that I have not mentioned are Kristen and Lindsey. And that is about all. People from the kibbutz that I like and I’ve met are Michael, the chef from the Bistro. Sharon, his wife and Kessim his daughter. There is a girl named Daniel who lives on the kibbutz with her mom, dad, grandparents, and sisters and brothers. Her mom is also nice but I’ve never met her dad. And that is pretty much all the people I like on the dig. But if you want to talk about animals, I love the kibbutz animals. There are many dogs, two donkeys, several cows, peacocks. There are also lots of pets that don’t run around the kibbutz like Daniel’s grandparents pets like Stinky the farret and some birds and a couple of dogs that would get in trouble if they got out. That is pretty much all I can think of. I’m really starting to miss my mom. I can’t wait to go back to New Orleans and go to Omaha where many of my grandparents live and to see them. Also, Grandma Susan I think is visiting at the end of the summer. SOme of the people on the dig said they might come see us in New Orleans.

Sy Gitin, the director of the Albright Institute of Archaeological Research, came to Tel Zeitah yesterday. Once he gave me a Yankees baseball hat. He’s a nice man.

Shabat Party

Saturday, June 18th, 2005

We went to a party last night. It was at a restaurant called the Bistro. It started at 10 pm and ended when everyone went home which ended up being 12:30. It was really fun. There was music, free drinks, and dancing. One of the people on the dig, Kristen, was a really good dancer. She took lots of dance classes and knew all of the moves. We did lots of dances and it was really fun. I sure stayed up past my bedtime. The dig is going great so far. It’s much easier for me than I expected for me to wake up at 4:30 AM and start working. The only hard part about getting up at 4:30 is that it is so cold. Plus the only sweater I brought is a really nice one and I can’t bring it to the site because I’m afraid it would get ruined. Oh well, I will survive. I finished the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia and that was good. It was called The Magician’s Nephew and was about two friends Polly and Duncan. Duncan had a crazy uncle who thought he was a magician. He had these magical rings that could take him to other worlds. I don’t think I should say too much about the book so I don’t spoil it for other people. But I started the second book, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. So far it is a great book. I can’t wait to read more. Today is Shabat so we don’t have to do any work. Also tomorrow we get to relax. I went swimming twice today. Last night for Shabat dinner we ate in the kibbutz dining room and they had a really nice meal. Afterwards everyone gets together on the patio for cake and coffee. I don’t like coffee, but I like the cake.
