Worn Again Art

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

So, I think I already posted how I was going to sewing classes for this project called Worn Again? Anyways, the class is about to end, but to pull it all off, they had a fashion show. They had the coolest flyers in the world! They depicted a sewing machine and all of the parts were labeled with information on the party. They printed out the image onto different cloth materials. I made something like a gothic ballerina outfit, complete with leggings, corset, and skirt-like-piece that sort of resembles a tutu? Um… yah. Well, it looks pretty cool. Here are some pics:

So, anyways, we didn’t know that we were going to be juried, but, I got first place in the juniors. And, as a prize, I got a fifty dollar gift card to Dirty Coast and a free sewing machine. Because of all of this, I have inspired all of my friends to not only make our own clothes, but also attempt to start our own line of clothing in an attempt to make a bit of extra money. They have some really great ideas and I can’t wait to get started!

My Summer 2008

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Well, so far, the wonderful season of summer hasn’t been quite as boring as I had expected it to be. But boring is good at times. I have lots of programs and camps that I’m going to so I always tend to be doing something. I’m going to a swimming program with practice on mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays, with meets every wednesday. I have sewing class on saturdays and next week, I’m going to have music lessons on every day except for saturday and sunday. When I’m not doing camp stuff, I generally work for my mom, helping her at her job for 5 dollars an hour. I’m not really short on money (for a kid), but it’s still nice to have. I also exercise in the evenings, and have parties with my friends at least once a week. And tomorrow is Friday the 13th!! In my opinion, it’s one of the best days of the year, second only to christmas. Me and a few people I know are trying to plan something for that. Speaking of the number 13, I shall have achieved that many years of life on the nineteenth of next month. Wonder what to do for a party… well, I have time ^_^.

Summer!!!!!!!!!

CHA!!! God, I’m finally free! God I’ve been waiting for this since the beginning of last year!! Yah!! (twenty bucks says that two weeks from now I’ll be bored outta my mind and begging for school to start again) So anyways, to celebrate and because my dad is an archaeologist and likes the movies, we went to see Indiana Jones today. It wasn’t as good as the other ones, but it was okay. Before then we went to a sushi bar and that was good. J’aime le sushi. Me ‘n’ my parents ‘n’ maybe my brother are going go to the Bayou Boogaloo. CHA!!! Schools out for summer! ^_^

Mother’s Day 08

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Happy day after Mother’s Day to all Mom’s who happen to be reading this. I hope yesterday was good to you. I am glad to report that this year, Mother’s Day did not bring upon its annual curse to me. The day is like my Friday the thirteenth. Each year, something bad seems to happen to me on that very day, the most memorable of which being the occasion a few years ago during which I broke my arm. T’was painful. But this year, I was free of bad luck, and my mom seems to be happy enough. We took her out to eat and were generaly nice to her. In the evening, we ate bananas foster which was trĂ©s magnifique as the French would say. I’m taking French class as one of my electives and am glad that the specific class, as well as school in general, will end on the twenty-second of this month. I can’t wait for school to be over and done with. Summer becons me with bright arms full of warmth and joy and I am sitting, chained to a school desk able to do nothing but watch and wait until the final day of my imprisonment ends and I am free to enjoy the two never-ending months of glorious freedom. Cha!!!
