Graceland

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

kk, this happened ALONG time ago, but i enjoyed it so much that i want to post it anyways… On our way to the suprise party/family reunion my family stopped in graceland, tennesy, the home of the great King of rock and roll, Elvis Presly. We went to his mansion and took the tour. His home was really kick ass, but it was still pretty laid back. Nothing like all of the millionaires/billionaires today that go off to these luxurious islands and buy multi million dollar homes with like 47,000 acres of property and all of that crap. (Sorta like i plan to do… -_-;) Anyways, after the tour, we went to the gift shop and bought a whole lot of overpriced crap, but it’s elvis crap, so it’s all good. I got TCB earrings and a cool belt. We also got bumper stickers and Mike got a T-shirt and more stuff like that. Also, my Abu and I got into an argument over whether or not I had been there before. I say that on my first trip to our great city, when we were bringing all of out furniture from Omaha to our new apartment, we stopped at the mansion. Mike says no, and this was my first time here. So, whatever that does. If any family member somehow has information about the subject, I am making a request that you help us solve this. (Unless said information helps Michael, then you can keep it to your self and no one the wiser, right?) So, thats about it…

JCC Boat Race

Saturday, August 9th, 2008

This was our first year in the JCC fourth annual boat race, but considering that and the fact that we made our boat within the time spand of two days, I would say we did pretty good. Here are some pictures of our boat:

The family’s dad is an engineer and made the boat by himself, so the family ended up getting three awards, with the prize of a 50$ American Express Gift Card, so I wish to congratulate them, but also give them a fair warning. Next year, they’re going down!

Omaha Band Reunion

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

(wow… i haven’t blogged in a long time) Over spring break, my family and I went up to Omaha, Nebraska. The reason was one: visiting family and two: my dad was having a punk rock band reunion. In case you don’t know, my father was in a punk rock band ‘back in the day’. Their name was Apathy and the band consisted of Seth Kirshman (singer), Mark Blackman (drummer), (my uncle) Jim Homan (guitarist), and my personal favorite, (my very own father) Michael Homan (bassist). The band was pretty well known and CDs were sold over seas. My brother and I were able to attend the concert and thought the whole thing was pretty cool. Although, it was sort of strange to see middle aged men jumping up and down and playing punk music on stage. But, being sort of into the whole punk thing myself, I enjoyed the whole event. My dad’s band was the best by far and you can see a video of the whole thing here:

This is a picture of the band on stage taken by my mom, Therese Fitzpatrick:

The past week

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

About a week ago, while I was at a friend’s house (luckily -_-,) my window was broken by a cleaver blade. Nice, I know.

So, at our other house we are cleaning off bricks from a chimney so that we can re-use them. They are apparently very expensive bricks. Well that’s about all that is going on in my life, except for school. What’s going on in yours? Tell me!!! .\ /. (<- they are supposed to be evil eyes that make you do what I say. Mufuhahihohoha… ha.)

Two-Day

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Today is Two-Day! Two-Day is today beacase today there are a lot of two’s in my life. It’s the second day of school for my second year of middle school. It’s my mom’s 41st birthday and I made brownies and she can have two pieces. I broke the second tire on my bike. It still needs to be fixed. We still have two dogs. I have two parents, and they have two children. Today I also have two nostrels. I am missing two of my favorite earrings as well as two dollars that magically reappeared in my brother’s wallet. Not to mention that we are half-way done with conquering the world (muhahahihuhuho=evil laugh)

32 Hours of Turning 12

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Today is my 12th Birthday, and on a day that would usually be spent eating cake, I will be watching movies and sleeping on a plane. My dad is trying to convince me that the whole thing is worth it by telling me that I will get an actual 32 full hours of birthday because we are the other side of the earth and will be traveling with the sun. It will be a nice present to get back to New Orleans and to see my friends and family.

Grandpa Homan

Friday, March 2nd, 2007

Sadly, durring the time of Mardi Gras, my dad informed us that my Grandpa had passed away. We had to leave right after the holiday so we could go to the funeral. It was held at a church in Columbus Nebraska. My brother and I took part in the ceremony. I read a passage from Revelation 21 and Gilgamesh took up the offerings that the priest needed. My dad also read a very touching speech he had written about his father. Grandpa Homan lived a good and full life, but I am sad that he is gone and I miss him. We took this picture last Christmas. It shows Grandpa Homan and his five grandchildren.

Washington D.C.

A few days ago, my family and I went with my dad on a business trip to D.C. We went almost everywhere in it, from the underground subway, or the “metro,” to the heights of the Washington Monument. We had two days to see everything while my dad was going to meetings. And when the day was done, we would go to the Mayflower Hotel to spend the night. My favorite part of the trip was seeing the history museum with all the dinosaur and skeleton things in it. The dinosaurs were much smaller in person than on TV. The White House also looked smaller. After the two days we got in the car and drove the second 18 hour trip back home. I was so glad when the trip was over.

My Birthday Party

Monday, July 24th, 2006

My birthday party Friday night was a blast! Even though there were only 3 people who could make it. It was still fun. We stayed up late and watched ghost things on tv and did a bunch of other stuff. We had a Meatwad piniata and played croquet. It was so much fun. Pics!
