Kalypso The Odyssey

If you read my last post you will know that I won a Wii in a video game contest, but something happened that might just tick me off. I still don’t have a wii. A couple of people thought that the grand prize winner, me, might not want a wii, so they gave the option that I could have the money that it would cost to buy one instead of the actual wii. By the time the tournament was over, and I had “won” the wii, the place that the school was going to get the wii from ran out of wiis and now they can’t get one. At the rate that the wiis are being made, shipped, and sold, it might be a few months before I get my prize. Isn’t it wonderful? Not!

My school had a video game tournament today and I won!!! Plus, the grand prize was a Wii and you know what that means ! OK, here’s how it hapened. I entered the tournement thinking that there was no possible way that I could win. There were thirteen games that you could play (Super Smash Brother’s Mele, Madden 07, Dance Dance Revolution, NBA Live 07, and eight games that were on a websight), so I entred in Super Smash Brother’s Mele and played most of the games online. Whoever had the high score on one of the thirteen games at seven oclock had their name put in a cup and if they were pulled, they would win. I won and lost the high score for several of the online games and never won the Super Smash Brother’s Mele. By seven O’clock I only had one high score, but that was more than I could have hoped for when I walked in so I was content. The suspence was high but when they finally pulled out the card and announced the winner, I felt like I could have fainted! I still can’t believe that I actually won a Wii. I am supposed to get it Monday and I can’t wait. Now my mom is sorry she told me that playing so many video games would never serve me well. Yeah me!

So far I’ve been to two Geek Dinners. Geek Dinners are for the bloggers and technology people in New Orleans to get together and share ideas for the benefit of New Orleans. At this one I along with two other people were interviewed by the BBC. They asked me about my movie. I also met a girl named Cassidy at the party, and she goes to Lusher in the 7th grade.

I went to a geek party on friday for all of the bloggers in New Orleans. It was really fun and I got to meet some great people. There was also a pool and I got to go swimming with Maitri who is a nice blogger who puts comments on mine I also liked the food there too but I was already full from where I was before the party. Before the Geek Dinner I went to a Shakespeare fest at my summer camp that was to show off all of the work that we have been doing in the past 5 weeks. One of my pieces was selected also for a fall art excibit. It was a fun Friday.

We got a new imac and it rocks! I finally have my own setings , it has all of the bomb games, and I love it! I also can use it as much as I want as long as I blog once a week. Look for my upcoming blog entries! While we were using the new computer we came accros the LA SPCA web site. We decided to actually go and visit the dogs there. There was an adorable sweet three legged lab mix and we think we might get him. I will give you an up-date next week.
